Padbury. 23 metres of American elm. Left to do its own thing for many years, this elm hedge had become tall and leggy. Although laid, staked and bound Midland style, being on a steep lateral slope some unobtrusive live stakes were also used to provide additional support.

As well as staking and binding the hedge, a third of the way in from the left an old cut stump has been left in situ to provide additional support...
